Building work is due to begin early next month on two community lodges in the grounds of Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley.
The two lodges have been part-funded by a £462,497 grant from NHS England and will enable the hospice to provide a safe, home-from-home environment for patients and their families, extending the provision of care the hospice is able to offer.
Peter Lennard, director of finance at Dorothy House, said: “We are pleased to have been able to appoint locally based Halsall Construction Ltd to this project, and see the stages of development progress from the plans produced by SR Architects Ltd to the start of the construction phase.”
The single-storey self-catering lodges will be completed by March 2014.
