UPDATED: Fatal car accident closes westbound M4

An elderly passenger has died after a single car left the road between junctions 15 and 16 of the M4 motorway, which has been reduced to one lane of traffic.
Police and the air ambulance attended the scene and one person has been confirmed dead, while two others, also reported to be elderly have been taken to Great Western Hospital with minor injuries.
The car is believed to have come off the westbound carriageway near to junction 16 shortly after 1pm this afternoon and flipped into an embankment.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "One car has gone off the carriageway and gone down a bank by the side of the road.
"The Air Ambulance has landed close to the westbound side of the motorway.
"A member of the public made the call to us shortly after 1pm and we will now be working with the Highways Agency to resolve the matter."
Police hope to reopen the closed lanes within the hour.
