Warminster School's annual Mencap Day
1:00pm Thursday 3rd October 2013 in News
The annual Mencap morning for those with learning disabilities saw the activities on offer range from nail painting, face painting, cookery and art, to some (extremely loud!) drumming and finally some rather competitive football in the sports hall. Each visitor had a sixth form ‘buddy’ for the day and other sixth formers helped each and every Mencap member have a fantastic morning.
Afterwards everyone enjoyed a delicious array of cakes, savoury snacks and drinks before some more activities (one person had his face painted as a pirate and kept up pirate accent for the remainder of the day). Then it was time for a tug of war between the Mencap visitors and the sixth formers.
The day was enjoyed by staff, sixth formers and visitors alike, wonderfully organised by head of pastoral care Mrs Wilcox.
