Walkers prepared to hot foot it to aid hospice

BRAVE work colleagues will be summoning all their willpower in a scary challenge to raise money for Prospect Hospice.
Lisa Schvartz, 30, and Martin Colvill, 39, will be among those walking over shards of broken glass and then, immediately afterwards walk over coals heated to 800 degrees.
The pair are both employees of Imagine Cruising and are taking part in the challenge with a number of other workmates. Neither of them have ever done anything like this before but both are confident they will be able to cross the glass and fire safely.
“I’m feeling a bit nervous but also looking forward to it,” said Martin, a media marketing executive.
“When the opportunity came up to do it, I signed up straightaway. It’s one of those things you see on a bucket list but rarely get the chance to do.”
Lisa, who works in operations, is also eager to do the challenge.
She said: “We don’t do any training as such but we have to do an hour and a half worth of preparation just before to get ready. Most people give their feet for charity by running so we’re just doing it in a different way.”
