Fitzmaurice Primary School in Bradford on Avon is looking for support to raise £16,000 to fit solar panels to its roof.
School families, businesses and organisations are being encouraged to get involved and help the school contribute towards the town’s aim to become carbon neutral by 2050.
Climate Friendly Bradford on Avon is working closely with the school and has already pledged £500 towards the project.
Headteacher Tracey Dunn said: “This is a really practical way of showing how the school is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and will be of enormous benefit for our children's education and future.
“We’re delighted that Climate Friendly Bradford on Avon is working closely with us on the project. We want our whole community to be involved, so, whatever your link to the school, please support us.”
Richard Craft from Climate Friendly Bradford on Avon is leading the project team, which consists of school governors, staff and parents.
He said: “We are confident the people of Bradford on Avon will really get behind us to support the school.”
