Post Office says ‘yes’ to free buses for Malmesbury residents

The Post Office has U-turned by agreeing to put on a free bus service for Malmesbury residents to go to Tetbury while work takes place at the post office in the High Street Co-Op.
Despite telling the Gazette a fortnight ago that people should use ‘nearby post offices to access services’, they have now agreed to buses.
Coun Kim Power said: “For health and safety reasons, the post office had to be closed.
“However, Simon Killane and myself alerted them to the lack of facilities nearby and they were happy to lay on a bus service.”
Work began on a £350,000 refurbishment of the Co-Op, on Tuesday and it is set to finish on October 31.
The temporary bus service will leave from Cross Hayes car park for Chipping car park in Tetbury to let customers use the post office there.
The bus leaves hourly from Monday to Friday from 10am until 3pm and the service will cease on October 30.
