MORE than £7,500 has been raised for Prospect Hospice at a fundraising dinner dance organised by members of Swindon’s Hindu Samaj.

Some 250 revellers attended the event at Swindon Supermarine Rugby Club to collect much-needed funds for the Wroughton charity.

Former Prospect Hospice trustee Sushma Patel organised the extravaganza. She said: “I would like to thank everyone who supported the event, but special thanks to the Guju Belles, my friends from the Hindu Samaj, Rokib Ali from the Biplob in Old Town and numerous local businesses for their generosity in supporting this event.”

Now in its fourth year, the annual dinner has raised more than £16,000 for Prospect.

Amy Francombe, community fundraiser at the hospice, said: “We are so grateful to Sushma, the Guju Belles and everyone else involved in this great event.”
