Winner of arts bursary to be announced at Corsham exhibition

The winner of a prestigious arts bursary will be announced at an exhibition in Corsham next month.

Five artists shortlisted for the Althea Wynne photographic bursary will display their sculptures at the Pound Arts Centre on January 10, when one of them will be declared winner of the £1,100 prize.

The five artists up for the award work in a variety of mediums, from bronze to paper and wire, and will first have their entries displayed at the Young Gallery in Salisbury from December 7 to 31.

The award is dedicated to noted sculptor Althea Wynne, who died in a car crash in 2012. It is awarded by the Friends of the Garden, and will enable the winner to commission a professional photographer to create promotional images of their work.
