Pensioner in case of theft
A pensioner accused of burgling the home of a seriously ill man has been released on bail. Brenda Cook, 62, is said to have stolen items from Gorse Hill sheltered housing complex The Ferns, on Ipswich Street, between July 7 and August 28.
No charge was put to Cook, of Espringham House, on Hathaway Road, Kingsdown, and she did not enter a plea during the brief hearing at Swindon Crown Court. The case was adjourned to February 7.
