Wiltshire householders will have another opportunity to save money on their energy bills as another auction for the UK’s largest collective energy scheme is being rolled out.

The Ready to Switch scheme is the largest and most inclusive of its kind in the UK with Wiltshire Council and 11 other local authorities joining together as part of a collective led by Peterborough City Council.

The next opportunity for people to register their interest is from today with this round closing on February 17.

This is the seventh such collective auction to be held in the UK, and many Wiltshire residents are making savings of £100 or more through the scheme.

Residents who registered in the previous auction round will soon get their personal offer letters or emails letting them know if they’ll be saving against their current deal – and if so how much money will be going back into their pocket.

There is no obligation for people to accept their personal offer, but if they do it’s easy and straightforward and the new provider will take care of the whole process.

Wiltshire Council cabinet member for the environment Toby Sturgis, said: “With the colder weather setting in, energy prices are continuing to rise, putting a strain on household budgets. I encourage residents to look into this scheme and see what savings they could make.”
