A TEENAGER has appeared before a judge accused in taking part in the robbery at Deacons Jewellers in Marlborough.

Cristian Coulson is said to have been a member of the gang which raided the High Street store on the morning of Tuesday September 17.

The 19-year-old from Coventry is the fifth man to appear at Swindon Crown Court accused of being involved in the raid.

No charges were put to Coulson, who appeared by video link from Winchester prison, and he did not enter a plea at the brief hearing.

Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case to Friday December 20 to link up with the other four and remanded him in custody until then.

On that day Marcus Cohen, 33, of no fixed address, and Paul Gallimore, 33, of Rugby Road, Coventry, are due to enter pleas.

Gallimore is also accused of possessing an offensive weapon, namely a crowbar, at the jewellers on the morning of the alleged raid.

At earlier hearings Leroy Green, 35, of Camelia Road, Coventry, and Linton Summerfield, 20, of Bushberry Avenue, Coventry, pleaded guilty to robbery They admitted taking part in a robbery where jewellery, watches and cash, worth an estimated £130,000, was taken.

All five men have been remanded in custody and are all due to appear at the hearing shortly before Christmas.

Police were called to the shop shortly before 10am to reports of men smashing glass cabinets.

A car thought to have been involved is believed to have been set alight in Aldbourne.

Meanwhile another was said to have been in collision with a Royal Mail van on the A419 close to the Commonhead Roundabout.

Armed response officers and police dogs with handlers were brought in to search woods close to the Great Western Hospital.
