A MOTORCYCLIST suffered s supected broken leg after he collided with a car, causing major congestion near junction 16 of the M4.

The man, in his 40s, was taken to Great Western Hospital after the incident at 5.26pm tonight.

Eye-witnesses reported a car and a motorcylist have collided on Great Western Way heading towards Blagrove Roundabout and traffic build up in the surrounding areas.

The road is down to one lane in both directions.

One driver, who asked to remain anyonmous, said: "There are ambulances and police at the scene.

"A motorbike has become lodged between a sign in the central reservation opposite the exit of Windmill Hill Business Park."

Another said: "It looks like the bike has gone into the back of the car because the Vauxhall Vectra had the rear bumper was gone, the wing mirror and the right rear tyre was flat."

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 5.26pm to reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike. we sent an amublance and a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle.

"The motorcyclist was taken to Great Western Hospital with a suspected fractured leg."
