A man is appealing for help getting back his bicycle which was stolen last month and was previously used in a Paris to Swindon fundraiser.

Matt Redwood, 35, has cycled more than 5,000 miles on his customised gun metal grey Specialized FSR XC bike, which was taken at 8.54am on November 11 from outside The Consortium, in Hammond Way, Trowbridge.

In September Mr Redwood, who lives in Dilton Marsh, raised £1,490.50, split between Wiltshire Air Ambulance and West Wilts Special Needs Activity Scheme, riding in the group fundraiser.

Mr Redwood, who works for Canon Business Services, based at the Conso-tium, said: “It feels like my best mate has been kidnapped. I have a lot of great memories of that bike on the fundraiser, and it helped me lose four stone in weight.”

Wiltshire Police have taken CCTV footage from cameras at the Consortium which shows a man wearing a black hoodie and white trousers, carrying a large plastic bag, taking the specialised bike.

Since it has been stolen, Mr Redwood has been informed of five separate sightings of his treasured bike around Trowbridge.

Mr Redwood, who is offering a £100 reward for the return of his £1,500 bike, said that because of all the modifications he’s made to his bike he would instantly recognise it.

He said: “I think it might have been sold on because you’d have to be an idiot to be riding about on it if you’d taken it.”
