THOUSANDS of pounds was handed to charities during a presentation at the Jubilee centre in Marlborough.
The disbanded Carnival Fun Day committee donated more than £1,000 to Wiltshire Air Ambulance, £500 was given to Prospect Hospice and Naomi House Children’s Hospice, while The Commun-ity Bus, Marlborough, and District Link Scheme, the Bobby Van, the Jubilee Centre, Greatwood Charity and Charlie’s Charity all received £250.
There was also a special presentation of £500 for a memorial bench to honour the Marlborough Carnival committee member Vicki Philpot who died in March.
The money was given to her husband Ian and daughters Mollie and Harriet.
Marlborough Supporters of Wiltshire Air Ambulance also presented the air ambulance charity with £4,000.
