AS part of the continuation of the Wiltshire Council’s pledge to fund free swimming during school holidays, young people will be able to swim for free over their Christmas holidays.

Anyone under the age of 16 is able to enjoy free swimming at a public swimming session at their local Wiltshire Council and DC Leisure-managed leisure centres.

This also applies to Calne Leisure Centre and Cricklade Leisure Centre.

They will have access to general, fun/features, inflatable and leisure swimming sessions.

Jerry Kunkler, the portfolio holder for leisure, said: “This is part of our Legacy For Wiltshire which aims to encourage people to keep active and healthy.

“With the winter weather starting to arrive, offering free indoor swimming provides an added incentive to exercise while still having fun.”

Free sessions are running from December 23 to January 3.

These sessions are very popular and so it is advised to arrive in plenty of time.

Children under 16 have free access to all public swimming sessions during school holidays recognised by Wiltshire Council.

The centres retain the right to ask for proof of age before entry to each leisure centre.

Children under eight ust be accompanied by an adult.

The child does not need to sign up for a membership package for the free swimming. For more details contact your local pool.
