Wiltshire Air Ambulance has received £2,000 from the Urchfont Scarecrow Festival committee.
The festival, a registered charity, distributed nearly £15,000 to about 25 good causes from this year’s festival which attracted about 10,000 people over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was one of the largest beneficiaries of the money donated from the festival and brings to £11,000 the amount it has received from the festival since 2006.
Robert Pendry, chairman of the festival, said: “None of us know when we, or a loved one, might need the air ambulance. It is a vital service in rural Wiltshire – literally a matter of life and death.
“When we decide how we should spend the funds we have raised, we always start with the air ambulance. It is at the top of our list.”
