RESIDENTS in Royal Wootton Bassett and Lydiard Tregoz are being asked to help development plans at Marsh Farm.
As well as the supermarket giant Tesco, which is hoping to build a store slightly bigger than the Sainsbury’s in Borough Fields, the proposals for Marsh Farm also include landscaped, public open spaces and play areas for children.
Everyone’s ideas will be considered before a planning application is submitted to Wiltshire Council next year.
Tesco’s corporate affairs manager Beth Greenhouse said: “We are looking forward to meeting local people and talking about what matters to them during our consultation, which is set to last a few months.
“We have met the parish council and spoken to our immediate neighbours, but want to speak to as many people as possible in the New Year.”
The proposals for Marsh Farm include a community supermarket, plans for 300 new homes, a local community hub, and public open spaces including play areas for children.
Tesco and representatives of landowners Leda Properties met with Lydiard Tregoz Parish Council earlier this month and presented the early stages of the plans.
Coun Peter Willis, the chairman of the parish council, said: “We have listened to what is being proposed and are taking our time to consider the plans and what they mean for our community.
“We would like to hear from local people and encourage them to take part in the public consultation.”
