Devizes Mayor Pete Smith was jumping for joy this week as he started practicing to support one of his favourite charities.
He will be taking part in a fitness fiesta at The Corn Exchange, Devizes, on Saturday, January 18, to raise funds for Bag4Sport Foundation, which supports grass root sport.
Coun Smith is no stranger to busting a few moves as he is a long-standing member of Devizes fundraising group the Major Wrecks – the all-male troupe of majorettes that performs with tights, pompoms and leg garters.
He said: “I am a big supporter of Bag4Sport as I think they do a great job raising money to get more people involved in sport and fitness.”
The half-hour sessions from 9am to noon will be led by instructors from Route2Fitness Gym at Hopton Park industrial estate and include a mixture of dance and exercise routines.
Bag4Sport director Andy Trusler said: “It will be all about having fun and blowing away a few cobwebs.”
