Adventurer launches new fitness sessions in Marlborough

Extreme adventurer Bear Grylls has launched a new fitness concept in Marlborough designed to transform the way people exercise.
BG EPIC training was introduced at a pilot venue in Elcot Mews on Tuesday evening and will open to the public on Saturday, offering complimentary taster workouts between 10am-2pm.
The concept was designed by Mr Grylls and his personal trainer Natalie Summers and uses specifically designed functional training combinations over a 30 minute group workout.
Mr Grylls said: “BG EPIC Training is different because it offers a whole body approach to training that combines cardio, strength and flexibility all together. It is based on a very functional combination of dynamic exercises that caters to all levels.
“It's about improving balance, coordination, power, aerobic capacity, muscular strength and endurance to deliver a faster lean body but really the best way is just to come and try it once. It needs to be experienced to get it. Above all though, it is fun and effective and short.”
Marlborough was chosen as for the test venue because Ms Summers trains in Wiltshire and Mr Grylls, who used to live near Marlborough, aims to visit the centre as often as possible.
He said: “I attended the launch this week with local businesses to talk through the concept and introduced them to a small team of highly skilled trainers that I’ve recruited to deliver the courses in Marlborough and will be down to train whenever I am down in the area which is quite often.”
If the concept is a success in Marlborough, the team plans to expand into London, Manchester, New York and Sydney.
Mr Grylls said: “We thought it would be a great place to launch and prove the concept before we expand out.
“I launched BG EPIC training with one of the UKs top trainers Natalie Summers to share with people the way that I train.
“People who try this just love the dynamic style of exercises that we do and within a matter of weeks they see real results.
“That was my motivation behind this: so regular folk can train and see fast, effective results in only 30 minutes.
“Personally I am definitely stronger, fitter and leaner than I had ever been in my life and that is down to these unique fast workouts. It's about changing the way you train for life.”
