BEST Favourite Fried Chicken has had its opening hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings extended until 5am by Wiltshire Council.

Following an appeal from Kenan Olmez, owner of the Market Street takeaway, the council decided to extend the trading times, which previously saw it close at 3.30am on those days, at a licensing hearing at County Hall on Tuesday. Under its licence, the eatery is now required to have two security guards working from midnight until 5.30am with another security guard working from 3.30-5.30am.

Representatives from Wiltshire Police attended the hearing arguing against Mr Olmez’s submission, fearing it increases the risk of alcohol-related disorder, but later said they will work with the eatery following the council’s approval.
