THREE repeat offenders have been given full Anti-Social-Behaviour Orders banning them from Swindon town centre.

Robert Thomas Donohue, 30, Paul Francome, 25, and Tanya Winters, 32, all of no fixed abode, were given the two-year orders at Swindon Magistrates Court on January 10.

All three had been given interim ASBOs last year but each offender broke their conditions of these orders.

This court result is the latest success for Operation Arcadia - a dedicated operation set up to specifically tackle anti-social behaviour in Swindon town centre.

The joint partnership project was set up in February 2012 and involves members from the Swindon Central Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) and Swindon Borough Council Anti-Social Behaviour Team.

It was established after a spike in anti-social crimes were reported in the town centre in 2011 and 2012.

Community Beat Manager for the Swindon Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) PC Paul Bezzant said: "This operation continues to be a success and I hope that these ASBOs send a warning to anyone causing problems in our community that we will work with our partner agencies to make sure appropriate action is taken.

"We work with all of our partner agencies including SWADS, the Probation Service, the Swindon Borough Council Anti-Social Behaviour Team, bus companies and businesses in the town centre.

“As well as increased patrols in the area we also engage more with members of the local community to build up a fuller picture of the problem and the impact it was having on people living and working in the area.

"Full ASBOs are not given lightly and these were deemed an appropriate punishment for three individuals who continued to cause problems in Swindon town centre.

"I would always urge anyone who has any issues regarding the town centre or who is being subjected to anti-social behaviour to contact your local NPT on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
