HJ KNEE is working with property consultant Sanderson Weatherall to find suitable occupants for their Trowbridge town centre shops as they prepare to move to the Spitfire Retail Park.

In December, Knees announced plans to leave its home of 130 years in Fore Street, as well as its nearby electricals store, to open a new shop at the centre, in Bradley Park.

Jonathan Knee, property and business director, said: “Negotiations are still ongoing, there are interested parties but no firm information I can give at this stage.”

Mr Knee said that despite moving away from the town centre, HJ Knee would still be a major part of Trowbridge and the company is looking to fill its soon-to-be-vacant premises with tenants who will complement the ongoing regeneration of the town.

Knees employs around 50 staff and some job losses are expected when it moves from the town centre to its new home, although Mr Knee said nothing has been confirmed at this stage.
