POLICE are hunting just two stolen puppies after three more puppies were reunited with their owner a week after the burglary took place.
Nine puppies were stolen between 8.30am and 10.30am from a home in Percy Street, Rodbourne, on Monday, January 13 and are described as Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Collie crossbreeds. The Adver reported yesterday that eight puppies had been found but police later corrected this. In fact seven puppies have now returned to the victim Albert Romaine, 55, as three were located on Friday evening.
Last week two men were arrested on suspicion of burglary and one 26-year-old has since been charged with the offence.
Police have searched a number of addresses.
The two missing puppies are too young to have been removed from their mother and police have concerns about their welfare if they are not returned urgently.
Det Sgt Gemma Vinton said: βIt is imperative that the puppies are found, returned to their mother urgently and appropriate veterinary care can be sought.
βI would ask anyone who has been offered to buy or who has bought a puppy in the last week and thinks it might be one of the stolen dogs to contact us.β
Call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
