THERE is still time to sign up to a Swindon Council-backed collective switching scheme in order to save money on energy bills The big six gas and electricity providers have all recently announced price increases so there has never been a better time to try and get a better deal by joining in the initiative, run in partnership with ichoosr.

To register interest, simply go online. So far more than 9,000 people have already registered interest in the collective switching scheme overall, which Swindon Council is participating in to try and save residents money on their energy bills.

Swindon took part in its first scheme last March and it resulted in hundreds of families saving an average of £72 a year on their bills.

Linda Nicholles, a 62-year-old carer from Stratton, signed up and certainly hasn’t looked back. She said: “It pays to shop around for everything these days and I’ve switched my energy provider quite a few times already.

“But after reading about it in the Adver, I decided to give it another go and am glad I did now. ”

Anyone without internet access can visit the Council’s One Stop Shop on Beckhampton Street or call 01793 445500. Registration closes on 17 February.
