Brownies from Trowbridge have already completed one of their centenary challenges, after writing to the Wiltshire Times to tell editor Gary Lawrence and readers what’s so great about being a Brownie.
The girls, members of the 1st Trowbridge and 6th Trowbridge packs – who meet on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at St Thomas’ Church Hall – are taking on challenges to mark their Big Brownie Birthday.
Comments included: “I like Brownies because I made a new friend”; “I like cooking and crafts and earning badges”; and “I like being a Brownie because it is fun.”
On Sunday, Brownies from across Wiltshire will join in a Big Brownie Birthday party in Swindon, when they will be shown how the movement has changed over 100 years.
