Lavington School in Market Lavington is ranked 18th in the county for their GCSE results last year.

The school had 63 per cent of pupils achieveing five or more A*-C grades including English and maths.

Headteacher Martin Watson said there were many positives to take from the results, including the performance in maths where the percentage of pupils making expected progress from the time they join the school to when they took their exams was 87 per cent compared to the national average of 70.7 per cent.

In addtion the capped points score which measures the average over the school’s eight best subjects was 358.5, compared to the national average of 339.8.

The school does not have a sixth form so does not have students sitting A-levels.
