A woman who is accused of starting a fire at a town centre flat has been remanded in custody by a judge.
Amanda Wilkinson, 34, is charged with arson with intent to endanger life in relation to a fire in Chippenham .
It is alleged that Wilkinson started a blaze at the flat on Station Hill on Friday, January 3, this year.
No charge was formally put to Wilkinson, who appeared at Swindon crown Court by video link from Eastwood Park Prison, and she did not enter a plea.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Friday, April 4, and remanded her in custody until then.
The emergency services were called to the flat, close to the former Karma nightclub, at about 2.30am on January 3.
A team of seven police officers were the first on the scene and constables Nick McVey and Jamie Ball went into the property to see if there was anyone inside.
Firefighters arrived soon after and, after donning breathing apparatus, they established no one was inside.
