It was another successful year for the Pewsey Vale Gardening Club’s annual potato fair, with more than 150 visitors passing through the doors of the Bouverie Hall on Sunday.
Visitors were spoilt for choice with around 80 varieties of spuds on sale, as well as flowers, fruit bushes and old-fashioned vegetable seeds.
The club has helped to organise the fair for the past four years in conjunction with Somerset company Pennard Plants.
Linda Keepence, the club’s events secretary, said: “It went very well as it does every year. There were lots of children there who had come with their parents – it’s a family event and is open to members and non-members.”
She said the group would be holding the fair again next year on a date yet to be decided.
The event attracted new members to the gardening club, with several visitors signing up.
Green-fingered enthusiasts paid a £1 admission fee and for that they were given tea or coffee and a slice of cake.
