Bradford on Avon’s Tourist Information Centre is appealing for home owners to open their gardens this year for the return of the Secret Garden Festival.

The event is set to run on the last Sundays of April, May, June and July and plans are already well under way for people to visit some of the town’s range of gardens.

Julie Cooper, who runs the festival for the TIC, said: “We are very fortunate to have some wonderful local people who work very hard on their gardens all year round. They love their gardens and are happy to show them off to other local gardeners and visitors alike.

“It makes for a wonderful Sunday afternoon and we hope many people will come into the town because of it. It would be lovely to have some new gardens for 2014, so if you have a garden you would like to show off in Bradford on Avon, do let us know.”

The festival is well into its third decade and last year it attracted 1,300 visitors and locals to the town and raised £5000 for the TIC, as well as raising money for national and international charities chosen by the garden owners.

Many of the gardens have craft stalls and raise money for their favourite charities as well as many local and national causes. Tickets will be on sale in March from the TIC.
