A THRILL-seeking couple will scale the world’s highest peak in a high-octane show of support for Prospect Hospice.

Sasha and Chris Dowson, of Ford Street, will trek 16 days to the Everest Base Camp in Nepal, this September, in a bid to raise £6,000 for the Wroughton charity.

In order to reach their ambitious target by autumn, the pair will hold a black tie charity dinner and auction at the Marriott Hotel on Friday, March 21.

Sasha, 27, said: “We have never done anything like this before. We are excited but we are a bit nervous.

“Everybody I know has in some way been affected by cancer and the Prospect does such a good of job looking after these people. We just wanted to do something for them.

“We will go on September 19 and climb 17,500ft. We are flying to Kathmandu and them from there to Lukla in a twin engine plane. Chris is not looking forward to that. Neither of us is athletic so we know we have a lot of training to do. But it’s all for Prospect.”

The night will include a three-course meal, live auction compered by TV’s Jonty Hearnden, silent auction and raffle, with entertainment provided by a magician and Jazz. Tickets cost £35 and are available at www.auctionforprospect.co.uk.

The black tie dinner party will start at 7.30pm.
