Police are keen to speak to a man caught on a CCTV camera after burglaries in rural areas around Malmesbury.
The image appears to show a man in a tartan hat and shiny bomber jacket in Dauntsey on Monday evening interfering with a vehicle.
A garage was broken into in the village that night.
“We would be very keen to speak to this man to eliminate him from our enquiries,” said Sergeant Martin Alvis, of Malmesbury Police.
“There have been a few burglaries in the area of Minety and Startley, where things have been stolen, and so we would like to speak to this man in relation to those and other offences.
“This just goes to show how brilliant and effective CCTV can be and the more people that have CCTV, and can provide it to protect their property, the better.
“A picture tells 1,000 words.”
Another male was seen in Dauntsey at about 8pm on Monday night, however the camera did not get a clear shot of the suspect.
Two males were reportedly disturbed trying the handle of a car and entering a garage that evening.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward, or to anyone who might be able to shed light on the identity of this man.
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
