THE Adver understands the Brunel Rooms will not be reopening after the management failed to renegotiate a new lease with the building’s owners.
On January 21 the leaseholders of buildings in the Brunel Centre, FI Real Estate Management, took control of the club back and changed the locks after the club fell into rent arrears.
Staff were left unpaid, and the directors said they were striving to renegotiate a lease. But after a new lease was not agreed, the 1,700 capacity club will now close for the foreseeable future, and the relaunch event set for 15 February has now been cancelled.
