Wiltshire councillors today voted to keep their rise in allowances.
All councillors are entitled to a one per cent rise, cabinet members are entitled to 22 per cent, while leader Jane Scott could have claimed about 36 per cent more than she gets at the moment.
Coun Scott has already said she will not take the increase.
Sixty councillors voted against the motion to rescind the vote taken in November, 24 voted for the move to scrap the increase, and six abstained.
