COUPLES in Swindon are being encouraged to take part in a world record breaking attempt to get the biggest number of couples to re-affirm their marriage vows at the same time.
The BIG promise initiative, led by local relationship support service Marriage Care, is urging couples to re-affirm their vows at St Mary’s in Purton tomorrow.
It is part of a world record attempt taking place across the UK for the number of couples reaffirming their vows at the same time.
The event will also kickstart Marriage Week UK, which runs until February 14.
Marriage Week UK, now in its seventh year, encourages couples to take time to focus on their relationships and learn new skills in order to make their marriages even better.
Paul Dempsey, who manages the Swindon Marriage Care service said: “Due to the stresses and strains of modern day living our marriages sometimes inevitably get pushed down our list of priorities.
“This shouldn’t be the case because if your marriage is strong, your whole family will be strong, and quite simply you’ll be much more content with life.”
