Three girls who belong to Corsham’s One Mile Club have been presented with trophies for running 100 miles in 100 weeks.

England Athletics coach Martin Rush, who represented GB himself in the past, presented the trophies.

One of the girls, Jade Littlechild, joined the club when she was seven. When under 13 she was 20th in the UK for the 1,500 metres and first in Wiltshire.

This season she has run in the Gloucestershire cross-country league and is in second, with one race to go.

She represented Corsham School in the south west region biathlon (running and swimming) and reached the nationals, which take place at the Olympic Park in April.

Another of the three girls, Zöe Stansfield-Cox, aged eight, is the youngest to have received her 100-mile trophy.

The third girl to receive the trophy was Shula Scotford.

Recently, Christopher Sapiano, 12, became the first to receive a 175-mile certificate.
