Extra recycling boxes made available

This Is Wiltshire: Extra recycling boxes made available Extra recycling boxes made available

Extra recycling boxes will be available for collection again starting from today.

People who need an additional recycle box due to collections now being fortnightly can pick one up, subject to availability, at the following collection points during normal venue opening hours: North Swindon Library, West Swindon Library, Croft Leisure Centre, Dorcan Leisure Complex and Highworth Rec.

Boxes will also be available at Pinetrees Community Centre on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm until 8pm, Fridays midday until 4pm and Saturdays and Sundays 9am until midday.

More than 3,500 boxes have already been issued to residents in anticipation of the service change, which took effect from the start of last week. It means residents are asked to put out their recycling on the next day they are due a wheelie bin or blue bag collection for general waste. Plastics in clear bags should also be put out on this day.

Demand has been high for additional boxes, so when stock ran out extra supplies were ordered to meet this. It is anticipated demand will remain high and although supplies at venues will be replenished wherever possible, residents may also wish to contact the venue beforehand to check on availability.

So they have ordered some more boxes after rolling out this service cut. They have no idea how many people will require another box and there might still be people not getting one. You couldn't make it up could you.

It's beyond the SBC's brain power to put supplies of these on the recycling lorries as this would provide the best source of supply/demand.

Even the most respected environmentalists of our era state that:

recycling is "almost certainly a waste of time and energy", while having a "green lifestyle" amounts to little more than "ostentatious grand gestures".

And yet still people believe the propaganda because they think they're 'doing their bit' by separating paper and metal each week.

Amazing how gullible and deluded so many grown adults actually are.
