WAITROSE has announced its new Swindon store will open its doors to customers on Thursday, April 10.
The supermarket, on Mill Lane, will be part of the new Wichelstowe development complex and will provide customers with the full Waitrose offer.
The new store will feature meat, fish, and cheese counters, as well as a café, bakery and wine department. The Waitrose Delivery Service will also be available in Swindon, providing shoppers with the option to have their purchases delivered to their homes at a convenient time.
Earlier this year, Waitrose announced an overwhelming response to job advertisements, with over 700 applicants applying for approximately 150 new positions that the store will create.
As Partners in the John Lewis Partnership they receive a share in annual profits and a say in how the business is run.
Partners will also be offering 250 hours of their time every year to support local causes through the retailer’s Partner Volunteering scheme.
Swindon store manager, Ian Smith, said: “Work is now well underway on the new store, and we are very happy to announce an opening date. We can’t wait to open our doors in April and look forward to becoming part of the local community.”
