Warminster charity supporter Jo Middleton has concluded a year of fundraising by handing a £1,200 cheque to dog charity Greyhound Rescue West of England.
Jo’s group, Wiltshire Pet Care, made GRWE its featured charity last spring and have been busy raising money at events across the county ever since.
“Last year I sat in a bath of beans in The Shires shopping centre in Trowbridge. Anyone who was there is bound to remember me,” said Jo.
“We also ran a series of dog events with proceeds going to GRWE It seemed fitting.”
GRWE’s chairman of Trustees Jan Lake said: “We are immensely grateful. Donations like this are literally a lifeline for the hundreds of dogs we rescue.
“The group’s efforts will make a huge difference and help us to add to the 23 dogs we rehomed in Wiltshire last year.
“Beyond this money, though, is the expertise that Wiltshire Pet Care have offered in helping us rehabilitate dogs” Jan said.
Jo has become a foster carer for rescued lurcher Mishka, who GRWE believe will benefit from Jo’s gentle and understanding approach.
“Mishka will learn to be a relaxed and confident pet with Jo, and then we will be seeking a loving forever home for her,” Jan added.
