Backing for crossing along Devizes dual carriageway

Rowde Parish Council is supporting calls for a crossing on the Caen Hill dual carriageway.
Devizes Area Board’s transport group is exploring whether to install dropped kerbs at either side of the A361, by Marsh Lane to Rowde and near the bus stops on the other side, as well as putting in a footpath on the central reservation.
The parish council has agreed to support the proposal in principle. It also suggested safety rails, chevrons/large warning signs and a hatched area around the Marsh Lane junction to make a single lane.
Devizes Town Council has also given support to the plan, which is estimated will cost £16,400.
