Friends and family of Margaret Hall, who died of cancer last month, are raising money for two charities.

Mrs Hall was 57 and lived in the Quakers Walk area of Devizes. She died on February 12.

Mrs Hall worked at B&Q in Devizes. She and her husband, John, moved to Devizes from Preston two-and-a-half years ago. Her colleagues have organised a fete on Saturday at B&Q, Devizes, from 11am to 2pm. Attractions include Peppa Pig, a live band, raffle, face painting and bring and buy stall.

Jess Davis, a colleague of Mrs Hall, said: “Margaret was an absolutely amazing woman. When she passed away we decided to raise money for Dorothy House Hospice, where she spent the last few weeks of her life, and for Cancer Research UK.”

Mrs Hall’s daughter, Becky Hall, 23, is confronting her fear of heights by organising a sky dive at the end of May in aid of the same charities. Also taking part will be her brother, Oliver, his wife, Jenna, her sister, Alison, and friend Breeni Gumm-Taylor.

Miss Hall, a chef at the Bridge Inn, Horton, said: “She was the best mum in the world. A sky dive is something I have always wanted to do but I am scared of heights. It’s fantastic what her colleagues at B&Q are doing. They didn’t know her that long so it shows what they thought of her.”
