Staff at the Sainsbury’s store in Monday Market Street, Devizes, will be pedalling miles but on a static bike in aid of Sport Relief.

They will aim to cycle the equivalent from Devizes to Westminster on Freiday while staff will also be performing as a flash mob to the tune of Superman.

There will also be a treasure map in store where customers can pick a square and the winner will receive a hamper.

At Devizes School a quiz based on A Question of Sport featuring sixth formers against teachers will be taking place on Thursday at lunchtime.

The school has already raised more than £100 for Sport Relief by selling cakes which were made by staff in a competition.

Former pupil and professional chef Peter Vaughan, owner of The Bistro in Devizes, helped with the judging.

Teaching assistant Claire Keen served the winning lemon cup cakes.

Pupils at Nursteed Community Primary School will be dressing up in sports gear on Friday while on Monday, March 24, pupils at Wansdyke Primary School will dressing up as their favourite sporting characters and doing various sports activities.

Pupils at Lavington School in Market Lavington will be taking part in a Sport Relief mile, fancy dress competition (dressed as famous sports people), a blindfolded football penalty competition, welly wanging and other fun activities.

Youngsters at Townsend Barn Nursery in Poulshot will be exercising to raise money for Sport Relief and the Gazette’s appeal for Devizes Opportunity Centre on Friday.
