Slimmers in Devizes are helping to take the weight off the mind of opportunity centre manager Betty Newman.
They are holding a sponsored slim to help our Give Us A Chance appeal for the nursery, which must raise £50,000 towards its running costs in the next year.
Kim Heath, who runs the Slimming World Club at The Crown Centre, Devizes, on Wednesday evenings, said: “Every year all of our groups nationwide take part in Slim For Good and this year two of the Devizes groups have chosen to raise money for Devizes Opportunity Centre.”
A group of members from Mrs Heath’s group and some from Sarah Hanning’s Tuesday group, which meets at Nursteed Primary School, will be sponsored for every pound they lose over a six week period.
Their final weigh-in will be on April 8 and 9. Other members are putting cash in collecting boxes at both centres and there will be a raffle.
