A Marlborough-based group which helps people with learning difficulties is one of the latest donors to our Give Us A Chance Appeal.
Members of East Wiltshire Mencap read about the work of Devizes Opportunity Centre in the Gazette and put it forward for a small grant.
This week manager Betty Newman was delighted when treasurer Bryan Castle rang the centre to say his group had voted to donate £100.
Mrs Newman said: “It really shows how much the publicity is working especially in the Marlborough area where we are not so well known.”
East Wiltshire Mencap is a self-funded voluntary group which caters for people aged 16 and over with learning difficulties and offers support to their families and carers.
- Fundraising events coming up include a bingo session on April 6 and table-top sale on April 27 at Devizes Wyvern Club.
