Warminster School sixth formers face a tough challenge this weekend, by trying to row for 24 hours on static machines to raise money to go to Tanzania.

Dan Roberts, Tommy Morgan, Luc Llywelyn-Roberts and Ben Wright aim to cover 250km – the width of the largest lake in Tanzania – on rowing machines in their school gym.

The challenge is their latest bid to fund the cost of the trip themselves. It starts at midday tomorrow and finishes on Sunday.

The group will travel to Tanzania in July with Camps International for a month of personal development and charitable project work. Headteacher Mark Mortimer said: “It’s very impressive. I have told them that it will be as much of a mental challenge as it will be physical.”
