DIABETES UK is looking for enthusiastic volunteers in Swindon to help co-ordinate a collection weekend at their local Tesco store.
The Big Collection weekend will take place in Tesco stores on June 13, 14 and 15, with the aim of raising thousands for Diabetes UK, as part of the major national charity partnership between the two organisations.
Diabetes UK is recruiting 300 Team Leader Volunteers across the UK and is looking for Team Leaders in Swindon to co-ordinate the Big Collection weekend locally.
Team Leader Volunteers will play a crucial role in organising the Big Collection and will work with Diabetes UK staff in the South West and their local Tesco store to prepare for the weekend, co-ordinate the collection operations over the three days and motivate a team of Collection Volunteers.
Phaedra Perry, Diabetes UK regional manager for the South West, said: “We are proud that nine out of ten people who volunteered for the Big Collection weekend last year said they would volunteer again, which means they really must have enjoyed it. We look forward to another fun weekend at the next collection in June.
The Big Collection weekend in October raised over £380,000 for Diabetes UK.
If people are interested in volunteering they can contact firstname.lastname@example.org, call 01823 448260, or email BigCollection@diabetes.org.uk.
