Pewsey Vale pupils proved their artwork is picture perfect at the school’s first portrait competition.
Students from Year 7 to 11 submitted an array of pencil drawings including pictures of A-list celebrities, family members, role models and even a horse for the interhouse competition.
Sue Lashmar from Marlborough Open Studios spent two hours judging the entries, with marks awarded for creativity, tone, composition, detail and realism.
The winners were announced on Monday with Year 9 pupil Lily Stringer named as the Key Stage 3 winner and Chloe Howe, who is in Year 11, winning from the Key Stage 4 entries.
All entrants earn points for the houses with the winners and runners-up being awarded extra points.
Head of art Kimberly Pallot said: “I wanted to get students interested in art and to promote the fact that we are a specialist arts school through an interhouse competition. Sue was really impressed with the quality, composition and the level of entry. She was so impressed she has said she will come back to judge next year.”
