A Chippenham man who is said to have been in possession of a stolen catalytic converter has been released on bail.

Daniel Stacey, 25, is also accused of going equipped to steal after allegedly being found with a tool kit in Trowbridge.

Stacey is said to have had the car part and tools, including a jack, in Prospect Place on Thursday, November 21, last year.

No charges were formally put to Stacey, of Unity Street, Chippenham, and he did not enter any plead during the brief hearing at Swindon Crown Court on Friday.

Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case until Friday, June 6, and released him on bail until then.
