Police have renewed their appeal for information after a man stripped naked in a Malmesbury charity shop dressing room and exposed himself to shoppers.

A man, thought to be aged about 40, went into the changing rooms of Cancer Research UK in the High Street and came out naked at about 5.15pm on Thursday.

The man had been in the changing rooms for a few minutes before venturing out unclothed, when he beganlook at shoes.

He was seen by a voluntary member of staff and a customer and was promptly asked to get his clothes on and leave, which he duly did.

The offender is described as a white male, about 5ft 4ins to 5ft 8ins, with a stocky appearance.

He has light brown/greying hair, in short back and sides style, and was wearing a purple/pink T-shirt, medium grey jogging bottoms and spoke with a polite, local accent.

Sgt Martin Alvis, of Malmesbury Police, said: “We’ve ruled out some local people that we are aware of that might have been responsible.

“The incident would suggest there are some mental health issues going on and I would be keen to speak to the person because obviously if there are issues we can help them by directing them to the right agencies, to avoid this happening again.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101.
