Parcels, packages and now pizzas can be collected from Lower Westwood Post Office, after the village underwent a major transformation.

The office, which was revamped last month, was officially opened last Thursday when the village’s oldest resident 98-year-old Pearl Rumbold came by the check out the new pizza bar.

Postmaster Ray Parsons took over running the Tynings Way store four years ago.

He said: “It went very, very well, we had about 30 people turn up, so great support.

“The evening pizzas are fantastic, we did 30 this weekend, which is great for an opening.

“We have got a pizza bar, so customers can ring up with what they want and we’ll prepare it for them here then they take it away fresh.

“It was great to see Pearly come down with a large bunch of flowers, she’s one of our regulars, and our longer opening hours now mean people in the village don’t have to travel to Trowbridge and Bradford to get their parcels sorted.”

The shop and PO counter are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, while the pizza service is available 4pm to 8pm Tuesday to Sunday.
