THE CHURCHILL pub in Royal Wootton Bassett is disappointed at being left out of a ‘Tube station’ map of watering holes.

The London Tube-style map was created by maths teacher John Coats and shows many of the pubs in Swindon, Royal Wootton Bassett and Highworth, including the Pig On The Hill in Old Town, the Tawny Owl at Taw Hill and the New Inn in Stratton.

But regulars at the Churchill were left disappointed when they found their pub had not been included on the map.

Kirstie Mingham, desk manager at the Churchill, said: “I wasn’t very impressed when I looked in Saturday’s paper and saw we weren’t on the map.

“We are a family pub and we do serve beer, and it just makes it look like we’re not a pub.

“It was one of our regulars who pointed it out to me and they were actually very cross about it.”

The map, along with ones for other towns including Bath, Gloucester and Oxford, are available to purchase from Waterstones in the town centre or from Chromatic Arts on Rodbourne Road.
